On 12–13 November 2025, the 2nd Technical Meeting of the project FRESHNESS: Promoting Energy Efficiency and Conservative Water Use towards a Low Carbon Urban Freshwater Supply, implemented under the Interreg VI-A Greece-Cyprus 2021-2027 Programme, was successfully completed in Larnaca at the EOA Larnaca Administration Building.
The meeting was held with the participation of all project partners, who thoroughly discussed the progress of activities, the technical preparation of upcoming actions, and the coordination of forthcoming pilot initiatives.
The exchange of experiences and best practices was a central point on the agenda, contributing to a shared understanding of the challenges and solutions in the field of water and energy management, and included a detailed review of progress and coordination of the project’s next steps.
During the meeting, the following were presented:
- the progress of the physical and financial scope of the project,
- information and publicity actions,
- the deliverables of the Current Situation Analysis,
- the methodologies and tools being developed, with contributions from invited experts,
- the status of the pilot applications, as well as critical milestones for their implementation.
On the second day, the Steering Committee convened to discuss potential risks and critical project issues, followed by a technical visit to the facilities of the EOA Larnaca Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The FRESHNESS project promotes the reduction of carbon footprint and energy efficiency in urban drinking water supply, contributing to more sustainable and resilient water supply infrastructures.
