The INTERREG VI-A Cooperation Programme “Greece-Cyprus 2021-2027” concerns the cooperation between Greece and Cyprus for the 2021-2027 period.
With targeted investments of approximately €58 million in both countries, Greece and Cyprus continue to work together to create better living conditions in the cross-border area.
The Greek-Cypriot cooperation continues through the mutual acquisition of knowledge and skills, aiming to establish a strong cross-border culture of collaboration.
Through this cooperation, the goal is to:
- reduce exogenous factors that contribute to biodiversity loss, the energy crisis, and climate change
- promote socio-economic development a) by strengthening culture, tourism, and the social economy and b) by ensuring accessibility for all population groups, especially the most vulnerable.
The INTERREG VI-A Cooperation Programme “Greece-Cyprus 2021-2027” is implemented in an area with shared maritime borders, history, and culture.
The two countries have been working together steadily for decades to address common challenges, proving that maritime borders are not an obstacle but can be an opportunity for growth and prosperity through targeted actions.
